Infrared photography is a look into an invisible world. The human eye cannot see infrared light as it lies beyond the visible light spectrum. But you can make photographs with an infrared filter or infrared film. Intriguing dreamlike effects, colors, and textures can be obtained when reflected with infrared light.
Infrared photography makes the ‘transparent’ overtly ‘visible’. “It reveals an unseen light, but at the same time, challenges people to think about what reality is in a photograph,” photographer Richard Binhammer suggests.
My color digital infrared images, glowing and dreamlike, are intended to stir imaginations and suggest questions, ‘How, what, and why’.
